by Skip Wall Fridays night crash at Ace Speedway could be costly for new driver Andy Seuss driving for Riggs Racing. Riggs started on the pole by virtue of an inverted start in the Whelen Southern Modified 150 presented by DMC Auto Exchange. Coming off turn four on lap 2 Seuss spun out with the field bearing down on him. Bobby Hutchens had no place to go and slammed into the side of Seuss. Neither driver was hurt and Hutchens was able to continue after losing some 77 laps.
The Advance Auto Parts team did extensive repairs but to no avail. The team loaded up and left the track early headed back to its shop in Martinsville Va.
It is not known if the team will have the car ready for Saturday nights stop at Caraway Speedway.
The team has another car but team spokesman Mike Paris wouldn't elaborate much if they were going to switch to a backup. "We may have another car and we may not" he said.
Seuss would finish dead last in the event dashing much hope for any shot at the title this year.
Seuss took over the Advance Auto Parts/Riggs Racing ride after veteran Jr. Miller vacated the ride to cut back on his schedule.
In the meantime, Hutchens will pull out a new car for the Caraway race.
"I had no place to go at the start of the race. The 44 (Brandon Hire) and Gene Pack got together and I had no place to go. We were all just stacked up when he (Seuss) spun."

Hutchens went on to say that his car wasnt torn up that bad, but he had planned to bring out the new car at Caraway anyways.
Hutchens also plans to run at the historic Bowman Gray Stadium this year and run for the points championship in a car sponsored by Chic-Fil-A. Have an opinion on
