| The Show Must Go On- Reitenour Wins 2nd Victory of Year | As they say in carny life, "The show must go on." The same was such at Kil-Kare Speedway this past July 4th in Xenia Ohio. Megan Reitenour, 17 years old, claimed her second Super Cup Stock Car Series title by winning the 100 lap race. She would have a heck of a time in getting into the lead, but when she did, it was Katie bar the door. Reitenour had to overcome a battle with fellow Ohio driver and rival, Ryan Miller, in getting her second Super Cup victory this year. She won the opening race at Tri County in March. Larry Wilcox finished second, followed by Todd Peck, Miller and new driver Rob Jones. Daniel Johnson the points leader started on the pole after a rain shower wiped out qualifying. Moreover Johnson had mechanical failure and borrowed a back up car that belonged to the Reitenour team. That touch of class is what this series is all about. However by starting in another car he had to start in the rear of the field which in the end cost him the points lead to who else? Reitenour.
Ryan Miller and Reitenour battled and fueded the first part of the race before Reitenour was able to gain full control of the field. She would then pull away from the field of 12 for this race.
A four car crash on lap 95 ended the night for Crabtree and Joe "Hurricane" Harrison III. Neither drivers were injured. A total disaster turned out to be a good day. An afternoon rain shower prompted Kil-Kare track officials to call the regular program and other classes around 3 p.m. However officials let the Super Cup Stock Car Series officials make their own call. In doing so Kil-Kare Speedway provided a flagman, medical personnel, wreckers and track insurance so that the Super Cup race could continue on. Series director, Joe Schmaling, decided that the show must go on since most drivers were around the North Carolina region. The race actually got underway around 6 p.m. after the track was dried and despite not having and announcer and no scoreboard. Its this comradery that makes this new series determined more than ever to race at whatever means. These people in this series love to race for the sport. The series now moves to Lonesome Pine International Speedway for an August 2nd race in the A&G Coal Company 100.
