| Whelen Southern Modified Races Rescheduled | by Skip Wall Remember all the rained out races this year in the Whelen Southern Modified Series Tour? Four to be exact.
Two races rained out earlier this season have been slated to be rerun later this season at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro NC.
NASCAR has announced that the first rainout on April 14th will be made up on Friday night August 22nd at the half-mile track owned and operated by the Hackett family.
The second rainout from July 4th, Will be made up on Saturday September 27th, which is the next to the last event on the Tour schedule.
There have been 7 scheduled races this year, however inclement weather has postponed four of those events. Of the races run, LW Miller of Mooresville NC has won two of them and Brian Loftin of Lexington was the other winner.
Moreover, Caraway has been the home track for the Southern Series for several years now. It has been well supported over the seasons by fans.
The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour next races Aug. 2 at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winson-Salem, N.C. That track is the best-attended short track in America and is full of some of the best exciting modified action period.
The season is scheduled to conclude on October 4th at Caraway as well.
Though the season has had more rainouts than races this year on the Tour, the best is yet to come at Caraway and Bowman Gray.
Miller maintains a 36 point lead over Ronnie Silk headed into the Bowman Gray event.
