Penalties Cloud Championship at BGS

(Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem, NC) The final official points standings for Bowman Gray Racing are in. Congratulations to the champions: Tim Brown, Ronnie Clifton, Ryan Nelson, and Johnny Burke.
For their actions during the season finale on August 16, 2008, Burt Myers and Junior Miller have been penalized by NASCAR. Section 12-4-A of the 2008 NASCAR Rule Book allows penalties for “Any Member who performs an act or participates in actions deemed by Track Officials as detrimental to stock car racing or to NASCAR.”
Both competitors will be put on probation for the entire 2009 season at Bowman Gray Stadium, and both competitors must submit a $1,000.00 performance bond before any competition in the 2009 season at Bowman Gray Stadium. The performance bond will be held for the 2009 season and returned to the drivers if they are not involved in an incident deemed to be outside the realm of routine racing. If such an incident does occur, the $1,000.00 performance bond will be forfeited by the driver and will be added to the general points fund at Bowman Gray Stadium. Also, any incident will result in suspensions, the duration of which will be decided by NASCAR Officials at the time of infraction.
